"So when you design and build your product or service, make it buttery. That will lead to all sorts of good things." This piece of advice from an article shared by my late co-founder Shakti back in 2019 became a cornerstone of our philosophy at Fold. This has shaped our commitment to creating smooth, effortless user experiences.
This philosophy recently earned us the title of the Best Android App of 2024 in the Everyday Essential category, alongside giants like WhatsApp.
Earlier this week, a message from one of our early users brought the news. It was a moment of pride and reflection for our small team that started with just six people two years ago. We set out to build something different, something better. Opting for an all-native approach using Swift for iOS and Kotlin + Jetpack for Android, we focused on making every interaction with Fold feel seamless.
Here’s what this approach has led to -
We’ve always envisioned Fold to become a seamless, but important part of your everyday life. Just like we rely on Google maps for directions, we want to build something people can just as easily rely on for their finances. There’s no better category than “Everyday Essentials” Fold could’ve won an award in, because that’s exactly what we’re trying to build.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of quality, with a vision to place Indian-produced apps on the global stage. This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team, especially the incredible efforts of our Android mavens, Aman and Noyal.
