When we first launched Fold, you could link your bank accounts and see your balance and transactions. That’s still the exact value proposition on our landing page today, mostly because we haven’t had the time to update it yet.

Back then, we expected requests for more features or support for more banks. Instead, most of what we heard was a need for more data sources. Credit cards, investments, and more.

We listened to you, and since then, we’ve slowly expanded Fold to cover more of your financial life. It sounds simple, but it’s easy to get this wrong and end up with clutter. We’ve been deliberate about what we add and where it shows up. From day one, the goal has been to build something that makes money feel simple. Maybe even a little enjoyable to engage with.

As the amount and complexity of financial data grows, that balance gets harder to maintain. We’re always walking a thin line. So far, we think we’ve held it.

Today, we’re bringing that same thinking to Mutual Funds. Beyond just total value and returns, you can now see richer insights into how your portfolio is actually performing.

Here’s what you can explore in the app today.

The basics

Your total portfolio value, invested amount, returns, absolute returns, and XIRR percentage are all included.

Beyond the basics

XIRR Analysis

You can now compare your portfolios XIRR to different benchmarks, starting with Nifty 50, which is live in the app right now. We also plan on adding more benchmarks and also a blended benchmark. You can check the benchmark against your active and the lifetime XIRR.

Fund performances

You can now see your top and underperforming funds across different time horizons, along with how each fund compares to its benchmark.

We hope this makes it easier to make more informed decisions about your mutual fund portfolio.

Funds

Each fund is presented with all the key information neatly within its card.

If you prefer a denser view, you can switch to a compact list layout. Each fund shows its XIRR, fund type, and other essential details at a glance.

Transactions

You can now view all your mutual fund transactions in one place, including both buys and sells, with the ability to filter them by amount and time.

We’ve also added a cumulative monthly total in the header for each month, so you can quickly get a sense of your activity at a glance.

Reports

Under Reports, you can currently download your transaction report, which gives you a complete history of your mutual fund activity, including all purchases and sales.

We’ll be adding more reports here soon, including capital gains reports, SIP reports, and comparison reports.

For the new kids

Most mutual fund platforms assume a level of financial fluency that not everyone starts with. The concepts and jargon often appear without much context.

As more first-time and younger investors enter the ecosystem, we’ve been trying to make room for them. We want to make finance feel approachable enough that you stay, explore, and keep investing with confidence.

Across Fold, we break down important ideas like XIRR, benchmarks, and how a fund compares to its benchmark in a way that’s easy to follow. In mutual funds, you can tap the info icon to understand what you’re seeing, and the same applies across the app. Anytime you see an info icon, there’s a clear, simple explanation waiting behind it.

Everyone likes to end announcement posts by saying this is just the beginning. For us, that isn’t entirely true.

This is already the third installment of improvements to mutual funds on Fold, and it won’t be the last. We’ll continue building here with a clear goal: to make it easier for you to navigate and truly understand your portfolio.

What’s coming next includes more detailed fund views, richer graphs, clearer return breakdowns, and deeper insights you can actually act on.
